Beginner to advanced welcome

Seven days of waves, mats & Madeira culture.

February brings consistent Atlantic swell, comfortable water temps, and time with a world-class jiu-jitsu coach. This camp blends the best of Madeira’s ocean with Brandon Quick’s modern grappling systems.

Surf Clube da Madeira's instructors guide you through daily surf progression while Brandon breaks down front-headlock strategy in intimate workshops. Between sessions, you explore Machico's coastal town, share meals with new friends, and enjoy curated adventures from cliffside viewpoints to seaside cafés.

“We’re merging Madeira’s famous waves with labs that sharpen transitional chokes, strategy, and confidence. You’ll leave with a stronger surfing stance and a more dangerous front headlock game.”

Surf progression tailored to your level.

Our instructors coach beginners through their first pop-up and challenge experienced surfers to refine positioning, timing, and reading Madeira’s winter swell. Equipment is ready on the beach each morning so you can focus on waves instead of logistics.

Small groups are organized by ability, giving you direct feedback, video review, and surfskate drills that translate land movement into confident rides in the Atlantic lineup.

Day 1: Ocean briefing & equipment fit

Meet the coaching team, dial in your board and wetsuit, and learn the current swell pattern at Porto da Cruz.

Daily sessions: Technique drills & wave count goals

Two-hour water blocks with drills, filmed reps, and individual objectives to increase wave count and control.

Surfskate lab

Translate cutbacks and weight shifts on land so the next morning’s session feels smoother and faster.

Surf coaching highlights

  • 5 guided sessions with Surf Clube da Madeira instructors.
  • All boards, wetsuits, and safety gear provided.
  • Small groups by skill level for personalized progression.
